Get To Know Our Basketball Trainers
Coach Bowman has spent the past five years as a leading personal basketball trainer in Richardson and he has experience coaching the 2010 – 2013 Richardson Varsity District Champion Berkner High School Rams. With Coach Bowman’s help, the Rams made the playoffs in 2009 – 2011, went to the Regional Quarterfinal in 2012 and played in the State Final Four in 2013.
Coach Bowman began his playing career at West Mesquite High School, excelling as the starting post player under Coach Marvin Daniels. After high school, he attended Frank Philips College and became an outstanding small forward for Coach M. Brown.
Coach Bowman has mentored and trained young athletes for over 14 years in basketball skills, strengthening and conditioning. Many have gone on to success at the college and professional levels. Co-founder of the LBA Seawolves and Air 1 Athletes select basketball programs, Coach Bowman continues to follow his life’s passion to help young athletes succeed by offering personal skills training for all skill levels and ages.
Rob has been involved in playing and providing basketball coaching for must of his life. A starting player on Freshman, JV and Varsity high school teams in Williamsville, NY, his teams went 59-18, with Rob playing in one Sectional Championship game as a junior and one Semi-final game his senior year. As a senior he averaged 18 points per game and was team Co-MVP, All District and All Amherst. He is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and has spent his professional life as a Landman and Natural Gas Trader before retiring in 2013.
He has been coaching youth basketball in the Dallas area for the last fifteen years, coaching both boys and girls focusing on skill development. Over the past 5 years, the availability of “court time” for practicing and skill development made him realize the need for an alternative to the high price of existing gym rental and the unavailability of school gyms. Gym Ratz Basketball Skills Club LLC is the result of this realization and many hours of hard work put in by a multitude of friends and family. We hope you enjoy our gym and services.
Dom began his basketball career at Bryan Adams High School in Dallas Texas. He was selected 2nd Team All Area in 2004 by the Dallas News. He then attended Texas A&M University where he was a 4 year starter under Coaches Billy Gillispie and Mark Turgeon. In 2006 through 2008 he was named to the All Big 12 Defensive Team, and in 2007-2008 he was named an NCAA Defensive All-American. He started every game while at Texas A&M while leading them to a #6 ranking in 2007, an appearance in the Sweet 16, and the Pre-Season NIT Championship in 2007. In 2008 he was named MVP of the Aggie Basketball Team. Texas A&M has created the Dominique Kirk Award given each year to the Best Defensive player at Texas A&M. Dom has had professional tryouts with the Spurs and Hawks in the NBA, played in Turkey in 2009 and 2010 with Beykoz and served as a Graduate Assistant at Texas A&M from 2011 through 2013.
